The CHEST Annual Meeting started in 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Spearheaded by a tuberculosis patient, CHEST founder Murray Kornfeld, this small gathering of health-care professionals has grown into the premier chest medicine education meeting for clinicians—the CHEST Annual Meeting.

“Over the past 22 years of my career at CHEST, something that has remained consistent with the CHEST Annual Meeting is its commitment to providing clinical education and information that can be taken away and applied to patient care immediately. Clinical education is the differentiator for CHEST from other organizations, and it’s what our members and attendees come for.”

– Steve Welch, CHEST Executive Vice President & CEO

Choose from hands-on simulation, interactive case-based presentations, small-group discussions, and more. New this year:

Deeper Dive Sessions
The new Deeper Dives sessions will allow attendees (and faculty) of very popular topics to gather together and continue the conversation around practical application and relevant cases. Attendees will be encouraged to bring difficult cases with them to gather input and feedback from their peers and faculty

Peer-Teaching Sessions
Test your knowledge by engaging with peers in the chest medicine field to find the correct answer to questions posed throughout the session.

Bite-Sized Teaching
This year, optimize your time by attending the new bite-sized teaching sessions for 8-10-minute singular topic-focused discussions. With bite-sized teaching, there’s no need to spend time on topics that don’t pertain to your specialties or areas of interest.

CHEST 2018 will also offer more than 400 general sessions, including simulation and interactive learning opportunities. Work with expert faculty to sharpen your skills and apply your knowledge in a clinical setting. Attendees can also experience:

The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is located in downtown San Antonio along the banks of the San Antonio RiverWalk.

The facility is the central component of the city’s successful convention industry. The Center, named for the late U.S. Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez, hosts more than 300 events each year with over 750,000 convention delegates from around the world.

The original convention center was built as part of HemisFair ’68 by a joint venture of two general contractors Darragh & Lyda Inc. of San Antonio, Texas and H. A. Lott Inc. of Houston, Texas, but has been significantly altered and expanded since then. Today it is a 1,300,000 square feet state-of-the-art facility with 192,000 sq ft of meeting space, 3 ballrooms, 4 contiguous exhibit halls totaling over 440,000 sq ft, and the adjacent 2,307 seat Lila Cockrell Theatre, a performing arts venue, which is part of the original construction.
