Why Malaysia?

At the time when many markets shrink, Malaysian food import market continues to be vast. It remains a net importer of food in 2011 worth RM34.50 billion which grew nearly twice as fast as exports. The major food imports are cereals and cereal preparations, vegetables and fruits, cocoa, dairy products, sugar and sugar confectionery.
Domestic demand is the key driver of the Malaysian economy.Income and population growth as well as changes in lifestyle resulting from urbanization have increased demand for food, caused changes in food habits, food purchasing and consumption pattern.
Agriculture is one of the sectors identified in the National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs)with focuses on selected sub-sectors with high growth potential including aquaculture, seaweed farming, swiftlet farming, herbal products, fruits and vegetables and premium processed food.
Malaysia is well positioned to be the International Halal Food Hub (IHFH) in halal food production and certification. Currently, the potential value of the global halal food industry range between USD600 billion and USD2.1 trillion.
Increasing consumer awareness in nutrition value and food fortification for healthcare has created the demand for functional/healthy food, organic food and natural food flavours from plants and seafood.
Malaysia is a dynamic country on the move. At the global level, it is one of the 20 largest trading nations worldwide and ranked as among the top 5th most competitive nations in the Asia Pacific region, making it a strategic springboard to the international arena especially the fast growing ASEAN and Middle East markets.

• The exhibition is open to professionals, trade and business visitors only during trade days.
• Admission is free but by invitation and business card. Registration is required during public day.
• Minors 16 and below will NOT be allowed admission.
• All visitors must be in proper business attire. The organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to those deemed inappropriately dressed. Bermudas, shorts, slippers and singlets are NOT allowed.
• RM10.00 per entrance ADMISSION FEES APPLIED TO PUBLIC VISITOR without business card and during PUBLIC DAY (8 June 2013)
